Due to road conditions in various parts of our county, Wilkes County Schools will be closed for students today, Friday, January 19. It will be an optional teacher workday. Staff should use caution when traveling to work.

Due to extremely cold temperatures and projected wind chill in the morning, Wilkes County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay for students tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17.

In order to allow us to assess conditions in the morning, Wilkes County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay for students tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10. Should these plans change, you will be contacted.

As a reminder, buses do not leave schools before 7:45 a.m. when we are on a 2 hour delay.
